Moleceys Barn, Wedding Venue, West Deeping
The project was for full Planning Application for a project in 4no. parts at Molecey Estate, comprising a new Wedding Venue, accomodation lodge, wellness spa and an extension to the existing manager's home. The proposal included a redesign of the access arrangements, movement around the site and a proposed sustainable energy strategy. The proposals therefore seek to create additional facilities that meet the brief for new structures of architectural merit that are constructed and designed to contribute to local context and benefit from the advantages of current contemporary and environmentally sustainable design thinking; and respects the Grade II* Listed Mill/Granary.
We will be complimenting the existing and established infrastructure to create a year round all-weather enterprise with a sustainable, eco-friendly design and construction. The proposals will be designed to enhance the character and appearance in the context of their landscape setting, carefully sited and designed to be complimentary to the existing Grade II Listed Granary/Mills buildings.
All design decisions were taken to meet RIBA 2030. Materials, surfaces, colours, and textures have all been selected to support a low impact for development beyond the site.
The new buildings and additions are designed to optimise opportunity for an holistic approach to an environmental strategy that joins energy generation and conservation together, the target set is to be as near nett-zero carbon emissions as possible.
