essoldo at number 279 is located in the heart of chelsea and as a mixed-use development comprised 3no. retail units, 1no. 3 screen cinema for everyman, 11no and prime residential apartments including three duplex penthouses.

the kings road facade responsds strongly to the streetscape characteristic and the constraints of a narrow and angular site led to interpretation of this in the form, style and appearance of the building. BREEAM excellent was gained and the commensurate MEP strategies helped to achieve this. the big challenge was the placement of cinema screen auditoriums, supported as shell cocoons on floor springs and totally isolated form the structural frame, a significant achievement by architect and engineer designers and the diligence and skill of the main contractor, volker fitpatrick
