proposals were briefed to meet the needs of a new cookery school in the heart of the somerset/bruton food enterprise area. located on a redundant farm, the opportunity is realised in the conversion of a redundant courtyard farm outbuilding and augmented by a hostel.

an architectural approach focuses on a strong local agricultural vernacular in forms that are appropriately scaled and detailed. natural materials locally sourced are key and the environmental audit will achieve aspirationally passivhaus standards. the project has been designed to allow acceleration of the build programme such that phase one will be ready to occupy in under 12 months.
